Public Debt and Sustainable Development in Kenya

Abstract

The main purpose of this study was to investigate the influence of debt on sustainable development in Kenya. The specific objectives of this research were; to determine the influence of public debt on the economy, to determine the influence of public debt on the envirorunent and to determine the influence of public debt on equity. This research will rely on secondary data from the Kenya National Bureau of Statistics as well as the central bank website. Microsoft Excel, simple regression equation and ordinary least squares method was used to establish the significance of the results. Analysis of the data was done using E-views application. These were used to answer research questions seeking to determine the influence of debt on sustainable development in Kenya.
