Item Staff Profile: Dr Victoria Mukami(UoEm, 2023) Mukami, VictoriaDr Victoria Mukami has a PhD in Information Technology from Durban University of Technology, South Africa. She has a Master of Science in Information System Technologies from Wilmington University and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Technology from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology, Kenya. Dr Victoria has been a lecturer for over 10 years whose passion has been catalyzed by her education with the obligation to shape young minds, support the community. Additionally, Victoria is continuously looking for ways in which information technology can bring out positive health outcomes. Victoria's other passion is instructing students to learn on their own. To go beyond what is provided in class or as is seen in the 'Kenyan scene', going beyond examinations. Learning to learn represents a critical skill for any human to involve. It is the skill that makes great innovators, researchers, and problem-solvers of our time. As a facilitator, Victoria realizes that to harbour any hope of the upcoming generation surpassing their skill levels, it is the implicit need for us as facilitators to teach them to thirst for more, to yearn for change and to look beyond their comfort zone.Item Staff Profile : Dr. Faith Mueni Musyoka(UoEm, 2024-08-01) Faith, MueniDr Faith Mueni Musyoka is a holder of Doctor of Philosophy in Information Technology from Kabarak University, Kenya, Master of Science in Information Technology and Bachelor of Science in Computer Science both from Masinde Muliro University of Science & Technology, Kenya. Dr. Faith is currently a Lecturer in the Department of Mathematics, Computing and Information Technology University of Embu, Kenya. She has served as a Tutorial Fellow for two years at the same institution. Dr. Faith has previously worked as an Assistant Lecturer at Gretsa University, Kenya. Dr. Faith Mueni Musyoka has research interest in the application of Internet of Things Technology in addressing healthcare challenges. She has developed a solution on detection of blood pressure fluctuations using smart arm watches and then triggering alerts to caregivers then, conducted the evaluation on the solution. Consolata is a machine learning and big data analytics expert. She is driven by the opportunity to make a significant impact in an increasingly data-driven world by applying skills and expertise to tackle complex problems and extract actionable insights from one health related data. Presently, she is actively engaged in projects spanning Embu and Murang’a counties, employing artificial intelligence to raise awareness about HIV/AIDS, exemplifying her commitment to harnessing technology for public health initiatives.Research Interests. Department University of EmbuItem Staff Profile - Dr. David Muchangi Mugo(E.U.C, 2015-07) Mugo, David M.Dr. David Muchangi Mugo, a Kenyan Citizen, is a PhD holder of Information Systems from Kenyatta University, Kenya. He has a Master’s of Science (MSc) Degree in Computer Science from Technical University of Hamburg, Germany and a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) where he specialized in Technology Management from Northern Institute of Technology Management, Hamburg, Germany. He graduated with a first class honours degree in Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Kenyatta University. Professionally, Dr. David Mugo is renowned Knowledge Management Consultant, a certified IBM Big Data Engineer, a certified IBM Cloud Developer and also an IBM certified Artificial Intelligence Analyst. Dr. David Mugo has been a lecturer for more than ten years and is currently a senior lecturer at the University of Embu, Kenya. Additionally, he is the current Chairman, Department of Computing and Information Technology (CIT), University of Embu. Previously, he has been the coordinator, Website and Electronic Repository at the University of Embu where he propelled the University towards higher Universities’ Webometrics Ranking. Dr. David Mugo is actively engaged in community empowerment efforts. He serves as a Chairman of St. John Chrysostom Muvandori Mixed Secondary School and Vice Chairman of St Alphonse Mixed Secondary School and St. Anne Girls Kiriari High School. He also holds various leadership positions in several BOMs of Secondary Schools and in the Catholic Church both at the Parish Level as well as at the Diocese Level. He has been a great motivational speaker in a number of secondary and primary schools in order to mold future leaders, professionals and academicians. He is a married man and a father of two boys and one girl.
